This year marks my 16th year in education. I started my career teaching 5th grade and then served as an elementary school principal. Prior to serving as 2nd grade teacher, I worked with an international non-profit that provides teacher training and then as a 4th and 5th grade teacher. I have loved each part of my journey, but my heart is truly in the classroom. I love coming to school each day to help my students learn and grow!

As part of our continued school improvement efforts, we have implemented Morning Meetings. During our meetings, my classes have discussed and implemented ways to make a difference in our school and community on a small, but important scale. This book could help us to consider other ways we can participate and support our community.

My students are eager to please and hard-workers. Our school serves a large population of high-poverty students, so having reading materials readily available at school is particularly important.
